It’s a big weekend. Hibrewnation Festival of Beers sold out, but if you go, meet up with FlipSide for some giveaways. And find local spots to catch the Super Bowl Sunday.

The Strand-Capitol Performing Arts Center, 50 N. George St., York
— Share a slice of “American Pie” with music legend Don McLean 7:30 p.m. Friday in the Strand. [$38 to $49]
— See Oscar nominated shorts Saturday at the Capitol Theatre. See the animated shorts 5 p.m. and the live action shorts 7 p.m. Get a preview above. [$7 for each screening; $10 for both]

The Eichelberger Performing Arts Center, 195 Stock St., Hanover
— Cheer for your favorite performer 2 p.m. Saturday during the Hanover Has Talent event. [$9 for adults and $6 for children 16 and younger and seniors 60 and older]
— Celebrate the King during “Shake, Rattle & Roll- A Rockin’ Tribute to Elvis” 3 p.m. Sunday. [$24]

On stage:
— JUNK Dance Company will conduct a master class in modern dance at 10 a.m. Friday in Lancaster’s Winter Center. The free class is open to the public, but university students get priority. — Catch moments from memorable musicals 8 p.m. Friday during “101 Years of Broadway” at the Rose Lehrman Arts Center at Harrisburg Area Community College, One HACC Drive, Harrisburg. Direct from the Big Apple, the show features five Broadway stars. [$42 for adults and $19 for students]
— See York County cigar-box guitar artist Shane Speal’s one-man blues show 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Staub’s Landing, 612 Frederick St., Hanover. Read an interview with Speal.
— Susquehanna Folk Music Society presents the bluegrass group Claire Lynch Band 2 p.m. Sunday at Appalachian Brewing Co., 50 N. Cameron St., Harrisburg. Lynch is the reigning Female Vocalist of the Year for the International Bluegrass Music Association. [$25 for general admission, $21 for SFMS members and $10 for students 3 to 22]
— Trinity United Church of Christ, 32 W. Market St., York, hosts vocal ensemble Ping for a concert 4 p.m. Sunday. [Free]
— Head to 91′s vinyl release party Saturday at The Depot, 360 W. Cottage Place, York. Doors are at 8 p.m. Witch Hazel, Foghound and Only Living Boy are also on the bill. [$5; 21 and older]

Winter fun:
— Don’t miss one of the largest outdoor ice festivals in Pennsylvania during IceFest 2014 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Friday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, and noon to 2 p.m. Sunday in Downtown Chambersburg. Activities include live ice carving, ballroom dancing at the Snowfall Ball and a Polar Dunk Plunge.
— Watch the competition on the ice in Hershey today through Saturday as the 2014 U.S. Eastern Synchronized Skating Sectional Championships come to the Giant Center and Hersheypark Arena. [One-day ticket is $20.75 for adults, $18.75 for seniors, and free for active military and children 7 and younger]
— Hike, Taste and Dine 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday along the Mason-Dixon Trail located directly in front of Shank’s Mare, 2092 Long Level Road, Lower Windsor Township. [$37 for members and $41 for non-members]
— Celebrate on Sunday with the 1993 comedy “Groundhog Day.” Midtown Cinema, 250 Reily St., Harrisburg, hosts a brunch and movie event that starts 11 a.m. [$10; BYOB]

— Dance away the winter blues as Party Alliance takes over The Shop at New Grounds Roasting Co., 284 W. Market St., York, 8 p.m. Friday. [$15 at the door; $5 VIP upgrade includes neon paint, glowsticks and more]
— Kids and families can attend a Valentine’s Day Card Making Workshop 11 a.m. Saturday at the Agricultural & Industrial Museum, 217 W. Princess St., York. York County Heritage Trust staff will talk about the history of sending Valentine’s Day cards and will use the 1850s Reliance Press to print a Valentine’s Day message. — Indulge in Chocolatefest Sunday at Hershey Lodge, 325 University Drive, Hershey. The premiere admission runs 10 to 11:30 a.m. General admission sessions run noon to 1:30 p.m. and 2 to 3:30 p.m. [$50 for adults and $5 for kids for premiere admission; general admission is $20 in advance and $25 at the door for adults, $5 for kids 5 to 12 and free for kids younger than 5]
— The 20th African-American Love Feast will honor 15 community members 2 p.m. Sunday at the Holiday Inn Holidome in West Manchester Township. It will feature African foods, fashions and music. [$40 for adults in advance and $45 at the door; $20 for kids younger than 12]
